Alford Select Board approves $140,000 vehicle purchase

Alford Select Board unanimously places 140,000-dollar highway vehicle purchase on town warrant. Peggy Rae Henden-Wilson moved to place a 2024 F-600 truck article on the July 25 Special Town Meeting warrant, seconded by Peter Puciloski; funding will draw from Stabilization reserves. The highway department cited approximately two-year wait times for new vehicles as justification for the purchase.
The board also held a special permit hearing on a 1,972-square-foot accessory building at 65 Green River Road, where abutters raised concerns about non-conforming lot placement and primary-dwelling location.
