Select Board selects standalone path for municipal power aggregation
Select Board · Meeting of October 28, 2024
Alford Select Board pursues standalone municipal power aggregation with April 2025 launch. The board selected this approach, requiring no new town funding, with Chair Bruce Schreiber and Tim Ortwein to determine contract terms based on December bids and January resident notification. Existing National Grid customers will be automatically enrolled; third-party supplier customers must opt in.
The board also endorsed BRTA medical transportation and approved Board of Health oversight requirements for a septic system application requiring proof of liability and on-site worker identification.
