Select Board orders gym closure, approves records digitalization

ALFORD — The Alford Select Board ordered a cease-and-desist to Berkshire People's Gym for zoning violations. Building inspector and code enforcement officer Matt Kollmer was directed to issue the cease-and-desist order to the fitness facility at 274 East Road, which operated without proper zoning approval. The board unanimously approved a $26,426.88 contract with Image Data to digitalize vital records, with Select Board member Peggy Rae Henden-Wilson moving and Peter Puciloski seconding.
The board also unanimously referred the Planning Board's proposed Short-Term Rental By-Law back to the Planning Board for public hearing.
