Select Board · Meeting of February 24, 2025
Alford Select Board approves highway snow and ice budget overspending. The board voted unanimously on a motion by Peter Puciloski to authorize overspending in the Snow and Ice account as winter maintenance expenses exceed allocated funds. Highway Superintendent TJ Horrigan noted the budget is nearly depleted.
The board also appointed Rich Ciatola to the Conservation Commission for a three-year term and agreed not to increase Transfer Station fees. In other business, the board discussed $72,397.08 in unspent federal ARPA funds that may be reclaimed by the government as the December 31, 2024 spending deadline has passed, and heard a budget presentation from Southern Berkshire Ambulance detailing staffing challenges and overtime costs.
