Alford Select Board authorizes historic grant application and Route 71 paving. The board granted permission to the Alford Historic District Commission and 250th Celebration Committee to apply for a grant updating the town's official history book. MASSDOT has agreed to fund Route 71 paving with work scheduled for summer 2024; the board directed Mr.
Horrigan to sign the memorandum of understanding and request elimination of passing zones on the state numbered road. The Finance Committee recommended using Free Cash and Assessors overlay for a Compact Loader and transferring 40,000 dollars from Free Cash to Stabilization.
