ALFORD — Select Board approves West Road Bridge land taking and zoning special permit. The Board unanimously authorized an eminent domain taking for the West Road project, awarding $34,375 in total damages to affected landowners, with Chair Charles Ketchen authorized to execute all necessary documents. In a separate zoning matter, the Board unanimously approved a special permit for an accessory structure at 65 Green River Road, with conditions requiring removal of bedrooms and kitchen from the existing 1,972-square-foot building to prevent residential use.
Road paving work is moving forward with a $322,200.50 contract for Green River Road and Mountain Road.
