Select Board approves summer Sunday hours for Transfer Station
Select Board · Meeting of July 28, 2025
ALFORD — The Select Board approved summer Sunday hours for the Transfer Station in response to weekend dumping by residents and day-trippers. The facility will open Sundays from 2 to 4 p.m. beginning May 1 through the second Sunday in October, with part-time employees paid $75 per shift; the town must obtain state DEP approval. In related business, the board unanimously reappointed members to the Historic District Commission, Link Commission, Zoning Board of Appeals, Board of Health, and town inspectors across five positions.
Board Member Peter Puciloski reported that Southern Berkshire Ambulance assessments will rise next fiscal year as staffing shortages limit the service to two ambulances instead of three.
