Alford Select Board unanimously approves structural evaluation contract for Route 71 property. The board authorized EDM to evaluate 9 Alford Center Road for code and structural deficiencies. In a separate action, the board approved a $750 one-time bonus for weekly paid employees to ease the transition to bi-weekly payroll, a change recommended by payroll consultant Scanlon and Associates and required under Massachusetts General Law with a 90-day written notice to staff.
The board also received updates on the transition of public health nursing from the Visiting Nurse Association to Tri-Town Public Health nurses and agreed to have Town Counsel review the Berkshire Public Health Alliance agreement before renewal.
