Select Board approves highway initiatives, defers vote-by-mail decision

Alford Select Board appoints Hall to ADA walkway lighting, approves truck home access. At the January 22 meeting, the board unanimously appointed Select Board member Jim Hall to assist Highway Superintendent Horrigan and contractor EDM on ADA walkway lighting design, and authorized the Highway Superintendent to take a town truck home during storms. The board set conservation permit fees at $250 and instructed the Conservation Commission to increase FY2025 allocations for Conservation Agent training.
The board deferred a public hearing on opting out of state-mandated early vote-by-mail procedures for the May 21 local election to February 12.
