Select Board approves FY2022 budget with 3 percent employee raise.

Alford Select Board and Finance Committee approve FY2022 budget with employee raises and staffing changes. The Finance Committee voted unanimously for a three percent raise for town employees and unanimously approved the conversion of Town Clerk, Tax Collector, and Treasurer positions from elected to appointed status at $9,600 annually each. The Southern Berkshire Regional School District budget passed with a 0.1 percent increase overall, delivering Alford a 3.3 percent decrease.

Highway Superintendent Monty Green announced his retirement in FY2022, with TJ Horrigan positioned to assume the role.
