Select Board appoints Tree Warden, withdraws from health alliance.
Select Board · Meeting of November 8, 2021
Alford Select Board appoints Tree Warden and exits 10-year health partnership. The board voted unanimously to name Monty Green Tree Warden starting December 1 at $3,500 annually and to withdraw from the Berkshire Public Health Alliance, which Chair Bruce Schreiber and members Peggy Rae Henden-Wilson, TJ Horrigan, Jayne Smith, and Peter Puciloski found had been using the town's name for grants without notification or direct benefit. A motion recommending the regional school district add COVID-19 vaccine to required school vaccines passed 2-1.
Lauren Sartor-Hobgood reported the town will receive $146,000 in American Rescue Plan Act funds, with COVID-19 public health expenses to be covered by the grant.
