Historic District Commission approves trail determination

Alford Historic District Commission unanimously approves insubstantial effect determination for wetlands trail. Commissioner Shirley Mueller made a motion for a determination of insubstantial effect, and the commission determined the proposed Seekonk Brook Wetlands Trail would have an insubstantial effect on the town's historic district. Commissioners discussed issues including the trail's location, materials and color, dimensions and grade, ADA compliance, visibility from the road, and potential impact on historic character.
The determination was approved unanimously.
