Finance Committee endorses Southern Berkshire Hills Regional School District merger.

ALFORD — Finance Committee backs Southern Berkshire Hills merger on financial grounds. The committee voted 4 in favor, 1 abstain, recommending town approval of the regional school district agreement following analysis of operating and capital costs under merger versus status-quo scenarios. Two votes will be required from all towns, first in October 2023 on the merger, then in 2024 on debt.
The committee also unanimously approved a $70,000 transfer from Alford Link Retained Earnings to Capital Improvements.
