Conservation Commission continues habitat restoration hearing to March

Alford Conservation Commission continued a public hearing on habitat restoration at North Egremont Road. Jessica Toro of Native Habitat Restoration, LLC presented an invasive barberry removal project at Alford Land Trust-Elizabeth Woods; the Commission requested material safety data sheets for herbicides, state ecological review, and public notification protocol before deciding. Chair Howard Wilson noted portions of the site fall within state Area of Critical Environmental Concern and Wetlands Protection Act jurisdiction.

Administrative Assistant Shannon Poulin will coordinate with Toro on disclosure requirements. The hearing was continued to March.
