Commission prepares Parsonage trail grant application

Historic District Commission · Meeting of February 17, 2021

ALFORD — Historic District Commission reviews Department of Transportation grant for Parsonage walking trail. The Commission reviewed a draft application for a shared winter streets and spaces project to create an ADA-compliant walking trail from the Parsonage to a wetlands overlook; members Tricia Bevan and Julie Scott prepared the application after consulting with trail-maker Braxton Shafiroff. The Commission also began planning to expand the historic district to include the Parsonage, Botham Park, and the Triangle, with a special informational meeting scheduled before the May Town Meeting.

Member Shirley Mueller reported that five of eight Commission members have reached the six-year service limit under by-laws, requiring a by-law revision vote at Town Meeting.
