Alford Select Board approves West Road eminent domain takings

ALFORD — The Alford Select Board unanimously approved eminent domain takings for West Road bridge improvements on October 16. The Board acquired a temporary easement at 301 West Road and a permanent easement at 307 West Road, awarding $2,540 in combined damages to affected property owners, with authorization delegated to Chair Charles Ketchen to execute necessary documents. In other votes, the Board approved a Right of Entry license for Henry Flint at Scribner Brook Farm, up to $70,000 in American Rescue Plan Act funds for a cardboard compactor, and a driveway permit for a new building lot on Crooked Hill Road.
A public hearing on Municipal Aggregation was also unanimously approved, though implementation would require 24 to 36 months for State approval.
