Alford Select Board appoints animal inspector as Finance Committee approves FY2025 budget. Peter Puciloski moved to appoint Thomas Horrigan as Animal Inspector, with Peggy Rae Henden-Wilson seconding; the motion passed unanimously. The Finance Committee, reporting through Joan Rogers, approved the FY2025 budget, which includes a 5 percent salary increase and anticipated increases in several departments including Southern Berkshire Ambulance and Town Counsel, with the regional school district expected to increase by 3 percent.

The committee also indicated general support for the Highway Department's request for a new compact loader, with funding discussion deferred to a future meeting.
