ADA Walkway Project Faces Land Ownership Barrier

Alford Select Board discovers major property ownership issue complicating ADA walkway plan. The Board designated three light post locations near the town's school building and reviewed Highway Department cost estimates of approximately $19,000 for broom brushed concrete finish, with stained and stamped concrete costs nearly double. A significant obstacle emerged when the town discovered it does not own a portion of the required property.
Members Peter Puciloski and Charles Ketchen directed staff to conduct title research and pursue land acquisition options, with Ketchen suggesting outreach to the church.
